LONDON
just a small amount of the pictures that I took.
To see the larger image right click and then select open in new window (some error I can't seem to be able to fix)
Pics of downtown at the Parliament Building (Big Ben) and Trafalgar Square (known for their pigeons)
Spify around the door decorations
The reconstructed Globe Theatre down to the last peg. Includes a few modern upgrades including fire sprinklers and flood lights.
Three of the Architectural examples of the trip (it wasn't all fun and games). The first is a flying buttress on Westminster Abby. The second is a gothic window on West Minster Abby. The third is a Roman arch (half circle) on some unknown building.
Just some of the truly awesome sights that were seen on the 5 hour train trip on my side trip to Edinburgh Scotland on Thurs.
The best of the best pictures that were took while exploring Edinburgh Scotland.
Real pints of ale at a REAL English pub (notice the little Purdue Pete on my fellow travelers shirt). And a very unique condom dispensing machine located in the men's bathroom of a kilt making store in downtown Edinburgh Scotland.
Just some of the unusual pics taken on the side. The weird looking one was taking using some of the new features on my camera. The one with a guy crawling on a bald guys shoulder is actually a street performer who is climbing up our Architectural Prof / Tour guide to stand on his shoulders and juggle at the same time (done in front of a crowd of hundreds for any money people want to give afterwards). The one with the messed up sign on the fence was taken at the famous Speakers Corner where on Sundays anyone that wants to say anything can say it and usually you get allot of crazy people who say crazy things to the crowds that gather. This one was informing the world that god wants us to build spaceships (there's a bible open up under that sign). That huge circle thing is called the London Eye and gives people a supposed view of the whole city. The one with all the horses was the mounted changing of the guard. The last is a sign for a shop/ cafe in the basement of St. Martins in the Fields Cathedral downtown.
An unusual building being built that you can see if you look closely the floors cantilever out from the interior shear walls and the exterior has these steel columns that actually spiral around while they travel up the building; kind of like the bulb of a flower. Something you won't see in the states.
A few more of the random pics, including THE Rosetta stone in the British museum which was the key to reading Egyptian hieroglyphs. A British guard at the tower of London who the kids would tease to get to talk or move. Little gargoyles on a buttress of West Minster Abby. And the worst job in the whole world, climbing the really freakin long ladder you can see if you look closely that goes up to the very tip of this cathedral.
